Method

Cooking Sausages

  1. 1

    Prepare the Sausages

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium heat. Place the pork and beef sausages on the grill or skillet.

  2. 2

    Cook the Sausages

Cook the sausages for about 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are browned and cooked through.

Preparing Potatoes

  1. 3

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and cube the potatoes. In a large pot, add the potatoes and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook for 15-20 minutes or until tender.

  2. 4

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

Preparing Sauerkraut or Red Cabbage

  1. 5

    Choose Your Side

Decide whether you want sauerkraut or red cabbage for your platter.

  2. 6

    Prepare Sauerkraut

If using sauerkraut, heat it in a pot over medium heat. Stir in apple cider vinegar and caraway seeds. Cook for 5-7 minutes until warmed through.

  3. 7

    Prepare Red Cabbage

If using red cabbage, shred it and sauté in a separate pan with a bit of oil for about 10 minutes until softened. Add apple cider vinegar and caraway seeds; cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
