Marinade
Balsamic Reduction
Method
Marinade Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.
- 2
Marinate the Steak
Place the flank steak in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is fully covered. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
Balsamic Reduction Preparation
- 3
Make the Balsamic Reduction
In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine 1 cup of balsamic vinegar and 2 tablespoons of honey. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to low and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the mixture has thickened and reduced by half.
Grilling the Steak
- 4
Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (around 400°F or 200°C).
- 5
Grill the Steak
Remove the flank steak from the marinade and let any excess drip off. Place the steak on the grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature (130°F for medium-rare).
