Orange Brandy Reduction
Method
Cheese Balls Preparation
- 1
Form the Cheese Balls
In a mixing bowl, crumble the goat cheese into small pieces. Using your hands, form small balls (about 1 inch in diameter) and place them on a plate.
- 2
- 3
Bread the Cheese Balls
Roll each goat cheese ball in the flour, dip it in the beaten eggs, and then coat it with bread crumbs. Make sure each ball is well-coated and set them aside on a plate.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until hot (around 350°F or 175°C).
- 5
Fry the Cheese Balls
Carefully add the breaded cheese balls to the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden brown on all sides, about 3-4 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
Orange Brandy Reduction Preparation
- 6
Combine Ingredients
In a saucepan, combine the orange juice, brandy, sugar, and a pinch of salt. Stir to mix the ingredients.
- 7
Cook the Reduction
Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Allow it to cook until it reduces by half, stirring occasionally, about 10-15 minutes.
- 8
Add Orange Zest
Remove from heat and stir in the orange zest. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
