Method

Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Caramelize the Onions

In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Slice the onion and add it to the skillet. Cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onions are golden and caramelized. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Thinly slice the ribeye steak against the grain and season with salt and black pepper. Cook the steak in the skillet over medium-high heat for about 3-5 minutes, until it's cooked to your desired doneness.

  3. 3

    Melt the Cheese

Once the steak is cooked, reduce the heat to low and place the Swiss cheese slices on top of the steak. Cover the skillet for a minute to melt the cheese.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Garlic Bread

Spread mayonnaise on the inside of the garlic bread hero rolls. Toast them lightly in a separate skillet or oven until golden.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Sandwich

Layer the caramelized onions on the bottom half of the toasted garlic bread, followed by the cheesy steak. Top with baby arugula and close the sandwich with the other half of the roll.

  6. 6

    Serve

Slice the sandwich in half and serve immediately with your favorite chips or side.
