Prepare Hummus

Blend the Ingredients
In a food processor, combine the canned chickpeas, tahini, garlic cloves, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, cumin, and water. Blend until smooth.

Adjust Consistency
If the hummus is too thick, add more water a tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached.

Taste and Adjust Seasoning
Taste the hummus and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or lemon juice to your preference.
Cook Shawarma

Marinate the Meat
In a bowl, combine the chicken or beef with olive oil, ground cumin, ground coriander, paprika, turmeric, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Mix well to ensure the meat is evenly coated in the spices. Allow to marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Cook the Shawarma
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated meat and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the meat is cooked through and slightly browned.
Serve

Assemble the Dish
Spread the hummus on a serving plate, creating a well in the center. Top with the cooked shawarma.

Serve with warm pita bread on the side for dipping.
