Beef Marinade Preparation
- 1
Marinate the Beef
In a large mixing bowl, combine plain yogurt, minced garlic, ground cumin, ground coriander, ground paprika, ground turmeric, ground cinnamon, olive oil, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Stir well until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed. Add the beef slices, ensuring they are well coated with the marinade. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight for best flavor.
Tahini Sauce Preparation
- 2
Cooking the Beef
- 3
Grill the Beef
Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Thread the marinated beef slices onto skewers. Grill for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until the beef is cooked to your desired doneness. Remove the skewers from the grill and let the beef rest for a few minutes.
Assembling the Dish
- 4
Prepare the Vegetables
While the beef is resting, dice the tomatoes and cucumber, thinly slice the red onion, and chop the parsley. In a serving bowl, combine these vegetables.
- 5
Serve the Shawarma
To serve, place the grilled beef slices on a plate alongside the prepared vegetables and tahini sauce. Serve with warm pita bread on the side.
