Cooking Directions
- 1
Prepare the Crab Sauce
In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red chili flakes, sautéing until fragrant (about 1 minute).
- 2
Add Tomatoes and Crab
Add the canned tomatoes (crushed) and salt to the pan, stir, and bring to a simmer. Gently add the blue crab, cooking for about 10-12 minutes until the crab is heated through.
- 3
Cook the Pasta
Meanwhile, cook the chittara or spaghetti in a large pot of boiling salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- 4
Combine
Once the crab sauce is ready, add the cooked pasta to the sauce, tossing gently to combine. Stir in the fresh basil and parsley.
- 5
Make the Herbed Crème Fraîche
In a bowl, mix the crème fraîche with lemon zest, lemon juice, chopped chives, salt, and black pepper to taste.
- 6
Serve
Plate the pasta and sauce, topping each serving with a dollop of herbed crème fraîche. Garnish with additional herbs if desired.
