Chicken Marinade

Sandwich Assembly

Method

Marinating the Chicken

  1. 1

    Prepare Marinade

In a mixing bowl, combine BBQ sauce, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well blended.

  2. 2

    Marinate Chicken

Place the chicken breasts in a zip-top bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring each piece is coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.

Cooking the Chicken

  1. 3

    Preheat Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F to 400°F).

  2. 4

    Grill Chicken

Remove the chicken from the marinade and discard any remaining marinade. Place the chicken on the grill and cook for about 6-7 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Remove from grill and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.

Assembling the Sandwich

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns

While the chicken is resting, slice the burger buns in half and lightly toast them on the grill or in a toaster.

  2. 6

    Mix Coleslaw

In a bowl, mix the coleslaw with mayonnaise until well combined. Adjust seasoning as needed.

  3. 7

    Assemble Sandwiches

On the bottom half of each bun, layer the sliced grilled chicken, followed by a generous scoop of coleslaw, sliced tomatoes, and pickles. Optionally, add fresh cilantro on top. Place the top half of the bun on each sandwich.
