Preparation
- 1
Prepare the dough
Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness and shape. Transfer to a pizza stone or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Cooking the Meat
- 2
Cook the beef and sausage
In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and Italian sausage, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 8-10 minutes. Drain excess fat, if necessary.
- 3
Season the meat
Add 2 tablespoons of taco seasoning to the cooked meat mixture. Stir well to combine. If needed, add a splash of water to moisten. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until heated through.
Assembling the Pizza
- 4
Top the pizza
Spread the seasoned meat mixture evenly over the prepared pizza dough. Sprinkle 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese on top of the meat.
Baking
- 5
Bake the pizza
Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the crust is golden brown.
Finishing Touches
- 6
Add fresh toppings
Once the pizza is out of the oven, immediately top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and crushed taco chips for added crunch.
