Method

Preparing the Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Beef

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Mix gently to combine, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the beef mixture into two equal parts and shape each portion into a patty that is slightly larger than the burger buns.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  2. 4

    Grill the Patties

In the same skillet or on a grill, cook the burger patties over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover the skillet or grill to melt the cheese.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare the Buns

Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, place the cooked burger patty with melted cheese. Top with crispy bacon, onion straws, and BBQ sauce. Place the top half of the bun to complete the burger.
