Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cauliflower

Remove the leaves and stem from the cauliflower head. Cut it into bite-sized florets and rinse them under cold water. Pat them dry with a clean towel.

Breading Setup

  1. 2

    Prepare the Breading Stations

In three separate shallow bowls, place the all-purpose flour in the first bowl, whisk the eggs in the second bowl, and combine breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in the third bowl.

Breading the Cauliflower

  1. 3

    Coat the Cauliflower

Dredge each cauliflower floret in the flour, shaking off any excess. Then dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess egg to drip off. Finally, coat the floret in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure the breadcrumbs adhere well. Repeat this process for all florets.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Ensure the oil is hot but not smoking.

  2. 5

    Fry the Cauliflower

Carefully place the breaded cauliflower florets in the skillet, making sure not to overcrowd them. Fry in batches if necessary. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.

  3. 6

    Drain Excess Oil

Once the cauliflower is golden brown, remove them from the skillet and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve the Dish

Transfer the breaded cauliflower to a serving platter. Serve hot, optionally with your favorite dipping sauce.
