Method
Pizza Dough Preparation
- 1
Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, mix warm water and sugar. Sprinkle the active dry yeast over the top and let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- 2
Mix Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
- 3
Knead Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
- 4
Let Dough Rise
Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
Pizza Assembly
- 5
Cook Bacon
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove and place them on paper towels to drain excess fat.
- 6
Prepare Toppings
Slice the large tomato and chop the romaine lettuce into bite-sized pieces.
- 7
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) while the dough is rising.
- 8
Roll Out Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- 9
Add Cheese and Bacon
Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet. Sprinkle the cheese evenly over the base, then layer the cooked bacon slices on top.
- 10
Bake Pizza
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the crust is golden brown.
- 11
Add Fresh Toppings
Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a minute. Spread mayonnaise over the top, then add the sliced tomatoes and chopped lettuce.
- 12
Serve
Slice the pizza into wedges and serve immediately while hot.
