For the Beer Battered Cod

Prepare the Batter
In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Slowly whisk in the beer until the batter is smooth and thick. Let it rest for 15-20 minutes.

Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Batter the Cod
Dip each cod fillet into the batter, ensuring it is evenly coated.

Fry the Cod
Carefully place the battered cod into the hot oil. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Prepare the Potatoes
Peel and cut the potatoes into sticks or wedges, as per your preference.

Heat the Oil for Frying
In a separate deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Fry the Potatoes
Carefully add the potato sticks to the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt while still hot.

Combine the Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the shredded green cabbage, grated carrots, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper.

Toss the mixture until all the ingredients are well combined. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld.
