Steak

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and allow them to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. This will help them cook more evenly.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub both sides of the steaks with olive oil. Sprinkle salt, black pepper, and garlic powder generously over both sides of the steaks. Use your hands to press the seasonings into the meat.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

If using a grill, preheat it to high heat. If using a cast-iron skillet, place it on the stove over medium-high heat and allow it to get hot.

  2. 4

    Cook the Steak

Once the grill or pan is hot, place the steaks on it. For medium-rare, cook the steaks for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving them. Flip the steaks and cook for another 3-4 minutes. Use a meat thermometer to check for an internal temperature of 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare.

  3. 5

    Add Rosemary

During the last minute of cooking, add the fresh rosemary sprig to the pan or grill. This will infuse the steaks with a delicious aroma.

Resting

  1. 6

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the grill or pan and let them rest on a cutting board for about 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in a more flavorful steak.

  2. 7

    Slice and Serve

After resting, slice the steaks against the grain and serve immediately. Enjoy your delicious ribeye steak!
