Prepare Breading
In a shallow dish, mix together the all-purpose flour and cornstarch. In another shallow bowl, beat the egg.

Batter the Fish
Dredge each fillet first in the flour-cornstarch mixture, then dip into the beaten egg, and finally coat again with the flour-cornstarch mixture for a crispy texture.
Frying the Fish

Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Fry the Fish
Carefully add the battered fish fillets to the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Prepare the Sauce

Mix the Sauce
In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, chili sauce, honey, lime juice, and chopped basil leaves. Stir well to combine and set aside.
