Vegan Burger Patty

Sweet Potato Fries

Method

Vegan Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Prepare Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked black beans and mashed sweet potato. Use a fork or potato masher to blend them until smooth but slightly chunky.

  2. 2

    Mix the Patty Ingredients

Add the rolled oats, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper to the bean and sweet potato mixture. Mix well until combined.

  3. 3

    Form Patties

With wet hands, form the mixture into four equal-sized patties. Place them on a plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.

  4. 4

    Cook Patties

Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Burger

Toast the burger buns briefly. Place a lettuce leaf on each bun, followed by a patty, sliced tomato, and sliced avocado. Top with the other half of the bun.

Sweet Potato Fries

  1. 6

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

  2. 7

    Prepare Fries

In a large bowl, toss the cut sweet potatoes with olive oil, salt, paprika, and black pepper until evenly coated.

  3. 8

    Bake Fries

Spread the sweet potatoes evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden and crispy.
