Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Jasmine Rice

Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.

  2. 2

    Cook the Rice

In a pot, combine the rinsed jasmine rice with 500 ml of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes or until rice is tender and water is absorbed.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the rice is cooking, chop the broccoli, carrot, and cauliflower into bite-sized pieces.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Carrot

For the carrot, julienne it or slice it thinly to ensure it cooks evenly.

Cooking

  1. 5

    Cook the Protein

In a large skillet or wok, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breast or beef sirloin cut into strips and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 6

    Stir-Fry the Vegetables

Remove the cooked protein from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add the chopped broccoli, carrot, and cauliflower. Stir-fry for about 4-5 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.

  3. 7

    Combine with Teriyaki Sauce

Return the cooked protein to the skillet with the vegetables. Pour the teriyaki sauce over the mixture and stir to coat everything evenly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve the Dish

Fluff the cooked jasmine rice with a fork and serve it on plates. Top with the teriyaki chicken or beef stir-fry.

  2. 9

    Garnish

Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired.
