Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the vegetables

Wash and chop the bok choy into bite-sized pieces. Peel and julienne the carrot into thin strips.

  2. 2

    Prepare the seaweed

If using dried seaweed like Wakame, soak it in water for 10 minutes until rehydrated and then drain. If using Nori, cut it into thin strips.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Marinate the salmon

In a bowl, mix together the shoyu sauce, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Place the salmon fillets in the marinade and let them sit for at least 15 minutes.

  2. 4

    Grill the salmon

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Remove the salmon from the marinade and place it skin-side down on the grill. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and slightly charred.

  3. 5

Sauté the bok choy and carrot

In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the bok choy and carrot, sautéing for about 5-7 minutes until they are tender but still crisp. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate the dish

On a serving plate, place a portion of sautéed bok choy and carrot. Lay the grilled salmon fillet on top. Garnish with seaweed strips and sprinkle sesame seeds over the top. Drizzle any remaining shoyu sauce if desired.
