Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Protein

If using chicken, slice the chicken breast into thin strips. If using tofu, cut it into cubes. Pat dry to remove excess moisture.

  2. 2

    Chop the Vegetables

Slice the yellow onion and bell pepper into thin strips. Trim the ends of the green beans. Chop the green onion into small pieces.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Sauce

In a small bowl, mix together the basil sauce, soy sauce, minced garlic, minced ginger, salt, and black pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or wok, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.

  2. 5

    Cook the Protein

Add the sliced chicken or cubed tofu to the skillet. Stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until cooked through and golden brown. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

  3. 6

    Stir-Fry the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add the sliced yellow onion and bell pepper. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they start to soften. Then add the trimmed green beans and cook for another 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.

  4. 7

    Combine Everything

Return the cooked chicken or tofu back to the skillet with the vegetables. Pour the prepared basil sauce over the mixture and stir well to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through.

  5. 8

    Finish with Green Onions

Add the chopped green onions and stir well. Remove from heat.
