Method

Preparing the Base

  1. 1

    Brew Espresso

Brew 1 cup of strong espresso coffee and allow it to cool slightly. Mix in 1 tablespoon of sugar until dissolved.

  2. 2

    Soak Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Arrange them in a single layer in a rectangular dish.

Making the Cream Mixture

  1. 3

    Whisk Egg Yolks

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks until pale and creamy. Gradually add in the mascarpone cheese and mix until smooth.

  2. 4

    Whip Heavy Cream

In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Carefully fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture, ensuring not to deflate the cream.

  3. 5

    Add Vanilla

Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the cream mixture and gently fold until well combined.

Assembling the Tiramisu

  1. 6

    Layer the Cream

Spread half of the mascarpone cream mixture over the layer of soaked ladyfingers in the dish.

  2. 7

    Add Another Layer

Repeat the process with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and the remaining cream mixture on top.

Chilling and Serving

  1. 8

    Chill

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to set.

  2. 9

    Serve

Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and sprinkle dark chocolate shavings. Slice into portions and enjoy!
