Carne Asada Ingredients

Method

Carne Asada Directions

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, pepper, and lime juice. Add the flank steak to the marinade, making sure it is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.

  2. 2

    Grill the Steak

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the marinade. Grill the steak for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until it reaches the desired doneness. Remove from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Lime Crema

In a small bowl, mix together the sour cream and lime zest. Add a little lime juice if desired for extra tang.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Carne Asada

Slice the rested steak thinly against the grain. On a serving platter, layer shredded lettuce, sliced carne asada, pickled red onion, and crumbled cheese. Drizzle with lime crema before serving.
