Prepare the Ingredients
Wash and slice the tomato. Rinse the lettuce and pat dry.

Assemble the Sandwich
On one slice of whole grain bread, spread mayonnaise and mustard. Layer with lettuce, turkey or chicken, tomato slices, and cheddar cheese. Season with salt and pepper.

Finish the Sandwich
Top with another slice of bread. Cut the sandwich in half if desired and serve.
