Fries

Method

Preparation of Fries

  1. 1

    Cut the Potatoes

Wash and peel the Russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips (about 1/4 inch thick) to create fries.

  2. 2

    Soak the Potatoes

Place the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps to remove excess starch and makes the fries crispier.

  3. 3

    Dry the Potatoes

After soaking, drain the potatoes and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep fryer or a large pot, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the dried potato strips to the hot oil in batches. Fry them for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Season with salt immediately.

Garlic Parmesan Topping

  1. 6

    Prepare the Garlic Butter

In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

  2. 7

    Combine Toppings

In a large mixing bowl, combine the hot fries with the garlic butter mixture, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, and black pepper. Toss well to ensure the fries are evenly coated with the topping.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve the Fries

Transfer the garlic Parmesan fries to a serving platter. Optionally, sprinkle additional Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley on top before serving. Enjoy hot!
