Method

Prepare the Ribs

  1. 1

    Prepping the Ribs

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs using a sharp knife. This will help the ribs become tender and absorb flavors better.

  2. 2

    Seasoning

In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and brown sugar. Rub this mixture generously over both sides of the ribs. Let the ribs rest at room temperature for 30 minutes.

Make the BBQ Sauce

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  2. 4

    Simmer Sauce

Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Stir occasionally and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes until it thickens slightly.

Smoke the Ribs

  1. 5

    Prepare Smoker

Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C) and add your preferred wood chips for smoking.

  2. 6

    Smoke Ribs

Place the seasoned ribs in the smoker and smoke for about 4-5 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F (90°C).

  3. 7

    Glaze Ribs

During the last 30 minutes of smoking, brush the ribs generously with the BBQ sauce to create a flavorful glaze.

Serve

  1. 8

    Resting

Once done, remove the ribs from the smoker and let them rest for about 10-15 minutes before slicing.

  2. 9

    Slice and Serve

Slice the ribs between the bones, serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side, and enjoy your delicious BBQ ribs!
