Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties, about 3/4 inch thick.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove from skillet and drain on paper towels.

  2. 4

    Cook the Burger Patties

In the same skillet, add the burger patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. Place a slice of Colby Jack cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns

Toast the burger buns lightly in the skillet or on a grill until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, layer lettuce, a cooked burger patty with melted cheese, crispy bacon, tomato slices, and onion. Add ketchup and mustard to taste, then top with the other half of the bun.
