Preparation of Chuck Roast

Season the Chuck Roast
Pat the chuck roast dry with paper towels. Rub the entire surface with salt and black pepper, ensuring an even coating.

Sear the Chuck Roast
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chuck roast and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side until a brown crust forms.

Transfer the seared chuck roast to a slow cooker. Cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours, until the meat is tender and easily shreds with a fork.

Make the Fennel Cream
