Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Rub the ribeye steak with olive oil, salt, and black pepper on both sides. Let it sit for about 15-20 minutes to absorb the flavors.

  2. 2

    Grill the Steak

Preheat your grill to high heat. Place the steak on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired doneness. Remove from grill and let it rest for 5 minutes.

Sandwich Assembly

  1. 3

    Prepare the Onion

While the steak is resting, slice the medium onion into thin rings. You can sauté them in a bit of olive oil for a few minutes if you prefer caramelized onions.

  2. 4

    Assemble the Sandwich

Slice the French bread lengthwise. Layer the sliced ribeye steak on the bottom half of the bread, add the prepared onions, and then drizzle your choice of ketchup or steak sauce. Place the top half of the bread on the sandwich.

  3. 5

    Serve

Cut the sandwich into halves or quarters for easier handling and serve immediately while hot.
