Method
Hot Dog Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Hot Dogs
Boil or grill the all-beef hot dogs according to your preference until fully heated through, about 5-7 minutes.
- 2
Assemble the Hot Dogs
Place each hot dog in a Chicago-style bun. Squeeze yellow mustard over each hot dog to taste.
- 3
Add Toppings
Top each hot dog with sweet pickle relish, chopped onion, a sprinkle of celery salt, and place a sport pepper and dill pickle spear on the side.
Fries Preparation
- 4
Prepare the Potatoes
Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips approximately 1/4 inch thick.
- 5
Soak the Fries
Soak the cut fries in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain and pat dry with paper towels.
- 6
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- 7
Fry the Potatoes
Carefully add the dried potato strips to the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- 8
Drain and Season
Remove the fries from the oil and drain on paper towels. While still hot, sprinkle with salt to taste.
