Method
Cooking the Patty
- 1
Prepare the Beef Patty
In a bowl, form the ground beef into a patty approximately 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of the patty to help it cook evenly.
- 2
Grill the Patty
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Place the beef patty on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Use a meat thermometer to ensure it reaches at least 160°F (71°C) for medium. Remove from the grill and let it rest for a minute.
Assembling the Hamburger
- 3
Prepare the Bun
While the patty is resting, slice the hamburger bun in half and lightly toast the insides on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
- 4
- 5
Layer the Toppings
Place the grilled beef patty on the bottom bun. Add a layer of sliced onion, followed by a lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato, and two pickle slices.
- 6
Complete the Hamburger
Place the top half of the bun over the toppings, gently pressing down to secure everything in place.
