Beef Patties
Hamburger Assembly
Method
Beef Patties Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Patties
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently with your hands until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
- 2
Form the Patties
Divide the beef mixture into 2 equal portions, shaping each portion into a patty about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while grilling.
Grilling the Patties
Assembling the Hamburger
- 5
Prepare the Buns
While the patties are grilling, cut the hamburger buns in half and toast them lightly on the grill if desired.
- 6
Assemble the Burger
Spread 1 tablespoon of mustard and 1 tablespoon of ketchup on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Place one grilled patty on top of each bun, followed by the sliced onion, shredded lettuce, tomato slices, and pickles. Top with the second patty and cover with the top half of the bun.
