Prepare Hot Dogs

Toast the Buns
While the hot dogs are cooking, toast the hot dog buns in a toaster or on a grill until they are golden brown.
Make Cheddar Cheese Sauce

Melt Butter
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter.

Add Flour
Once the butter is melted, whisk in the all-purpose flour, stirring continuously for about 1-2 minutes to create a roux.

Add Milk
Slowly pour in the milk while whisking to prevent lumps from forming. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the mixture thickens.

Add Cheese and Seasonings
Reduce the heat to low and add the cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir until the cheese is completely melted and the sauce is smooth.
Assemble

Combine Hot Dogs and Buns
Place each cooked hot dog into a toasted bun.

Top with Cheese Sauce
Generously pour the cheddar cheese sauce over each hot dog in the bun.
