Crispy Chicken Sandwich Ingredients
Method
Crispy Chicken Sandwich Directions
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken thighs, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- 2
Prepare the Coating
In another bowl, mix the all-purpose flour and cornstarch. This will be used for coating the chicken.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Coat the Chicken
Remove the marinated chicken from the buttermilk and let the excess drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour-cornstarch mixture until fully coated.
- 5
Fry the Chicken
Carefully place the coated chicken thighs in the hot oil. Fry for about 5-7 minutes per side or until golden brown and cooked through. Use a meat thermometer to ensure they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
- 6
Assemble the Sandwich
Remove the fried chicken from the oil and let it drain on paper towels. Toast the burger buns lightly. Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun, add a piece of fried chicken, top with lettuce and tomato slices, and cover with the other half of the bun.
