Method

Prepare the Coffee Mixture

  1. 1

    Brew the Espresso

Brew 1 cup of strong espresso and let it cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Combine with Liqueur

In a shallow dish, mix the brewed espresso with 2 tablespoons of coffee liqueur.

Make the Mascarpone Filling

  1. 3

    Beat Egg Yolks

In a large bowl, whisk together 3 egg yolks and 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar until the mixture is pale and thick.

  2. 4

    Add Mascarpone

Gently fold in 16 oz of mascarpone cheese until smooth and well combined.

  3. 5

    Whip Cream

In another bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until soft peaks form.

  4. 6

    Combine Mixtures

Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully incorporated.

Assemble the Tiramisu

  1. 7

    Soak Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

  2. 8

    Layer Ingredients

In a rectangular dish, place a layer of soaked ladyfingers at the bottom, then spread half of the mascarpone filling over them.

  3. 9

    Repeat Layers

Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers, then top with the remaining mascarpone filling.

Chill and Serve

  1. 10

    Chill Tiramisu

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.

  2. 11

    Dust with Cocoa

Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder.
