Salad Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Salad Base
In a large bowl, combine the mixed salad greens, sliced cucumber, halved cherry tomatoes, and diced avocado. Toss gently to combine.
Tuna Preparation
- 2
Season the Tuna
Pat the fresh tuna steaks dry with a paper towel. Rub the ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper onto both sides of the tuna fillets. Allow to marinate for about 10 minutes.
- 3
Sear the Tuna
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add a little oil if necessary. Sear the tuna fillets for 2 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer if you prefer them cooked more. Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes.
- 4
Slice the Tuna
Using a sharp knife, slice the seared tuna fillets into thin strips.
Assembly
- 5
Assemble the Salad
Place the prepared salad base on serving plates. Top with the sliced tuna, and sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
- 6
Serve
Serve immediately without dressing, allowing the fresh flavors of the ingredients to shine.
