Salad Base

Method

Marinating the Tuna

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a small bowl, mix together grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, lime juice, honey, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Tuna

Place the sushi grade Ahi tuna in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it, ensuring the tuna is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Preparing the Salad

  1. 3

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the tuna is marinating, prepare the vegetables. Slice the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into bite-sized pieces. Rinse the edamame beans and snap peas under cold water and drain.

  2. 4

    Assemble the Salad

In a large bowl, combine the edamame beans, snap peas, and avocado pieces. Toss gently to mix.

Cooking the Tuna

  1. 5

    Sear the Tuna

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated tuna and sear for about 1-2 minutes on each side for rare to medium-rare doneness. Adjust time based on preference.

  2. 6

    Slice the Tuna

Remove the tuna from the skillet and let it rest for a couple of minutes before slicing it thinly.

Final Assembly

  1. 7

    Combine and Serve

Place sliced tuna on top of the salad mixture, garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve immediately.
