Burger Patties

Burger Assembly

Method

Preparing the Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form each portion into a patty about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing while cooking.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, you may add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to your desired doneness.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half. Optionally, toast the insides on the grill or in a toaster for added texture.

  2. 6

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each bun, place a leaf of lettuce, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato, pickles, and your choice of ketchup and mustard.

  3. 7

    Finish the Burger

Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
