Method

Preparation of Ribs

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).

  2. 2

    Prepare the Ribs

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs. Pat them dry with paper towels.

Making the Dry Rub

  1. 3

    Combine the Dry Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.

  2. 4

    Season the Ribs

Rub the dry mixture all over the ribs, ensuring to coat both sides evenly.

Cooking the Ribs

  1. 5

    Bake in the Oven

Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover the ribs with another piece of foil and bake for 2.5 to 3 hours, until the meat is tender.

  2. 6

    Prepare the BBQ Sauce

While the ribs are baking, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir and simmer for 10 minutes.

  3. 7

    Glaze the Ribs

Once the ribs are tender, remove them from the oven. Uncover and brush a generous amount of BBQ sauce over the ribs.

  4. 8

    Finish Under the Broiler

Place the ribs under the broiler for 5-10 minutes, until the sauce is caramelized and bubbly. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.

Serving

  1. 9

    Slice and Serve

Remove the ribs from the oven, let them rest for a few minutes, then slice between the bones and serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
