Chopped Chicken Liver

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Sauté the Onions

In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until it becomes translucent and soft, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 2

    Cook the Chicken Livers

Add the chicken livers to the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are browned on the outside but still slightly pink on the inside.

  3. 3

    Season the Mixture

Sprinkle the salt, black pepper, and garlic powder over the chicken livers and onions. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

  4. 4

    Add Eggs

Remove the skillet from heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly. Then, add the hard-boiled eggs (peeled and chopped) to the skillet, mixing them in evenly.

  5. 5

    Blend the Mixture

Transfer the chicken liver mixture to a food processor. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and fresh parsley. Process until smooth, scraping down the sides as necessary.

  6. 6

    Taste and Adjust Seasoning

Taste the mixture and adjust the seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or pepper to taste.

  7. 7

    Serve

Transfer the chopped chicken liver to a serving dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld. Serve with assorted crackers.
