Directions
- 1
Prepare the Beef Patties
In a mixing bowl, combine the natural ground beef with salt and pepper. Mix gently to avoid overworking the meat.
- 2
Form the Patties
Divide the beef mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.
- 3
Prepare the Fries
Wash and peel the potatoes if desired. Cut them into thin strips to create fries. Soak them in water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
- 4
Cook the Fries
Drain the potatoes and pat them dry. In a large bowl, toss the potato strips with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Spread them in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 425°F (220°C) for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden and crispy.
- 5
- 6
Prepare the Buns
While the patties are grilling, slice the potato buns in half and toast them on the grill for about 1-2 minutes until lightly browned.
- 7
Assemble the Burgers
Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Place the grilled beef patty on top, followed by a slice of tomato, lettuce leaves, red onion slices, and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.
- 8
Serve
Serve the burgers hot alongside the housemade french fries.
