Method

Crust Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Crust

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, melted butter, and salt. Mix until the crumbs are well coated in butter and the mixture is crumbly yet holds together when pressed.

  2. 2

    Form the Crust

Press the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form an even layer. Use the bottom of a measuring cup to help compact the crust. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven and allow to cool while you prepare the filling.

Cheesecake Filling Preparation

  1. 3

    Mix the Filling

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Gradually add the granulated sugar and continue to beat until fully incorporated.

  2. 4

    Add Remaining Ingredients

Add the sour cream, vanilla extract, eggs (one at a time), and flour to the cream cheese mixture. Beat on low speed until just combined and smooth, being careful not to overmix.

  3. 5

    Pour Filling into Crust

Pour the cheesecake filling into the cooled crust, smoothing the top with a spatula.

Baking and Cooling

  1. 6

    Bake the Cheesecake

Bake the cheesecake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the center is set and only slightly jiggles when shaken.

  2. 7

    Cool the Cheesecake

Turn off the oven and crack the door open. Allow the cheesecake to cool in the oven for 1 hour. Then, remove it from the oven and let it cool at room temperature for another hour before refrigerating for at least 4 hours or overnight.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve with Toppings

Once the cheesecake is fully chilled, carefully remove it from the springform pan. Top with fresh berries, drizzle with chocolate or caramel sauce, and add whipped cream if desired. Slice and serve.
