Method

Appetizers

  1. 1

    Marinate shrimp

In a large bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Add the shrimp and toss to coat. Let marinate 10-15 minutes.

  2. 2

    Make glaze

In a small saucepan, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, then reduce to low and simmer 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat.

  3. 3

    Preheat broiler

Position the oven rack about 6 inches from the broiler and preheat the broiler.

  4. 4

    Prep pan and butter

Line a broiler pan with foil and lightly oil. Melt butter and brush over the marinated shrimp.

  5. 5

    Broil shrimp

Drain shrimp from marinade and arrange in a single layer on the prepared pan. Broil 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and opaque. Brush with glaze during the last minute of broiling.

  6. 6

    Finish glaze

Brush shrimp with additional glaze and broil 1-2 minutes longer to caramelize.

  7. 7

    Serve

Transfer shrimp to a platter, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve hot with lemon wedges.
