Method
Brewing the Tea
- 1
Boil Water
In a saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.
- 2
Add Tea
Once the water has reached a boil, remove it from heat and add 4 tablespoons of loose black tea leaves or 4 black tea bags.
- 3
Steep the Tea
Let the tea steep for about 5-7 minutes, depending on your desired strength. The longer you steep, the stronger the flavor.
- 4
Strain the Tea
If using loose tea leaves, strain the tea into a pitcher to remove the leaves. If using tea bags, simply remove them.
- 5
Cool the Tea
Allow the brewed tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until chilled, about 1-2 hours.
Serving the Iced Tea
- 6
Prepare Glasses
Fill glasses with ice cubes (about 1 cup per glass) and add optional lemon slices and mint leaves as desired.
- 7
Pour Tea
Pour the chilled unsweetened iced tea over the ice-filled glasses.
- 8
Garnish and Serve
Garnish with additional lemon slices or mint leaves if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
