Method

Preparing the Filling

  1. 1

    Mix Cream Cheese

In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.

  2. 2

    Add Scallions and Jalapeño

Stir in the finely chopped scallions and jalapeño pepper until evenly distributed.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Crab

Gently fold in the fresh crab meat, garlic powder, and salt until combined well.

Assembling the Rangoons

  1. 4

    Prepare Wonton Wrappers

Lay out the wonton wrappers on a clean surface.

  2. 5

    Fill the Wrappers

Place about 1 tablespoon of the crab filling in the center of each wonton wrapper.

  3. 6

    Seal the Rangoons

Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, fold it over to create a triangle or a purse shape, and press to seal tightly.

Making Chili Honey

  1. 7

    Combine Honey and Chili Flakes

In a small saucepan, combine the honey and chili flakes over low heat.

  2. 8

    Heat and Stir

Stir continuously until the mixture is warm and well combined. Set aside.

Frying the Rangoons

  1. 9

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 10

    Fry the Rangoons

Carefully add a few rangoons at a time to the hot oil, frying for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown.

  3. 11

    Drain and Serve

Remove the fried rangoons from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil. Serve hot with chili honey drizzled on top.
