Mondo Meatballs
Method
Mondo Meatballs
- 1
Prepare the Meatball Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef and Italian sausage. Mix well to combine.
- 2
Add Dry Ingredients
Add the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper to the meat mixture. Stir until all dry ingredients are well incorporated.
- 3
Bind the Mixture
Crack the egg into the mixture. This will help bind the meatball components together. Mix thoroughly until you have a cohesive mixture.
- 4
Form the Meatballs
Wet your hands slightly to prevent sticking. Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter, and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- 5
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) while you prepare the meatballs.
- 6
Cook the Meatballs
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the meatballs in batches, cooking until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
- 7
Bake the Meatballs
Transfer the browned meatballs to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until cooked through.
- 8
Serve with Marinara Sauce
In the last 5 minutes of baking, heat the marinara sauce in a saucepan. Once the meatballs are done, serve them hot, drizzled with marinara sauce.
