Crispy Buttermilk-Dipped Chicken Breast

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk and a pinch of salt. Add the chicken breasts and ensure they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Coating

In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Coat the Chicken

Remove the chicken from the buttermilk marinade, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, pressing down to ensure an even coating. Set aside.

  4. 4

    Fry the Chicken

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the coated chicken breasts. Fry for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

  5. 5

    Drain and Serve

Once cooked, remove the chicken and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve warm with sautéed green beans and whipped potatoes, drizzled with a peppered honey drizzle.
