Method

Preparation of Topping

  1. 1

    Chop Tomatoes

Dice the fresh tomatoes into small cubes and place them in a mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Add Basil

Chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the bowl with the diced tomatoes.

  3. 3

    Mince Garlic

Peel and mince the garlic cloves, then add them to the tomato and basil mixture.

  4. 4

    Season Mixture

Drizzle the olive oil over the mixture, add salt and black pepper, and stir everything together until well combined.

  5. 5

    Let it Rest

Allow the mixture to sit for about 10-15 minutes to let the flavors meld.

Preparing the Bread

  1. 6

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium heat.

  2. 7

    Slice Bread

Slice the baguette or Italian bread into 1/2 inch thick slices.

  3. 8

    Grill Bread

Place the bread slices on the grill and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

  4. 9

    Drizzle with Olive Oil

Once grilled, lightly brush or drizzle the hot bread with olive oil for extra flavor.

Assembling Bruschetta

  1. 10

    Top with Mixture

Spoon the tomato and basil mixture generously onto each slice of grilled bread.

  2. 11

Finish by drizzling balsamic glaze over the top of each bruschetta.

  3. 12

    Serve Immediately

Serve the bruschetta immediately while the bread is still warm.
