Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Shrimp
Rinse the extra jumbo black tiger shrimp under cold water. Pat them dry with paper towels. In a bowl, season the shrimp with salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Allow the shrimp to marinate for about 15 minutes.
Breading Setup
- 2
Prepare the Breading Station
Set up a three-dish breading station. In the first dish, add the all-purpose flour. In the second dish, whisk together the eggs and milk. In the third dish, combine the Hawaiian style panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, and paprika.
Breading the Shrimp
- 3
Bread the Shrimp
Take each marinated shrimp and dredge it in the flour, shaking off any excess. Then dip it into the egg mixture, allowing the excess to drip off, and finally coat it with the panko breadcrumb mixture. Make sure the shrimp are well coated.
Frying the Shrimp
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Test the oil by dropping in a small piece of bread; if it sizzles and browns, it's ready.
- 5
Fry the Shrimp
Carefully place the breaded shrimp in the hot oil, a few at a time to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove the shrimp and drain on paper towels.

Serve
Arrange the fried shrimp on a serving platter. Garnish with lemon wedges and serve with tartar sauce on the side for dipping.
