Prawns

Method

Preparing the Prawns

  1. 1

    Boil the Prawns

In a large pot, bring 1 liter of water to a boil. Add 1 teaspoon of salt.

  2. 2

    Cook the Prawns

Once the water is boiling, add the peeled and deveined prawns. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the prawns turn pink and opaque.

  3. 3

    Drain and Cool

Remove the prawns from the boiling water and drain them in a colander. Rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process and allow them to cool.

  4. 4

    Marinate

In a bowl, combine the cooled prawns with 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. Toss to coat and let them marinate for 10 minutes.

Making the Cocktail Sauce

  1. 5

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup of ketchup, 2 tablespoons of horseradish sauce, 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of black pepper.

  2. 6

    Mix Well

Stir the ingredients together until well combined. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the Prawns

Arrange the marinated prawns on a serving platter or individual cocktail glasses.

  2. 8

    Add Sauce

Serve with the cocktail sauce on the side or drizzled over the prawns.
