Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Seafood
Rinse the fish fillets, shrimp, calamari, and scallops under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
- 2
Set Up Breading Station
In three separate shallow bowls, prepare the breading station: one for flour, one for beaten eggs, and one for panko breadcrumbs mixed with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
Breading
- 3
Bread the Seafood
First, dredge each piece of seafood in flour, shaking off the excess. Then dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing the excess to drip off, and finally coat it with the seasoned panko breadcrumbs. Ensure each piece is fully coated.
Frying
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F).
- 5
Fry the Seafood
Carefully add the breaded seafood in batches to the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the fried seafood to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
- 6
Serve
Serve the fried seafood hot with lemon wedges and tartar sauce on the side.
