Method

Crust Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Make Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Once the yeast is activated, add it to the flour mixture along with olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead and Rise

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

Topping Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare Vegetables

While the dough is rising, slice the bell peppers, onion, and mushrooms into thin pieces. Set aside.

  2. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) to ensure it’s hot when the pizza goes in.

Assemble and Bake

  1. 6

    Shape Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer it to a pizza stone or baking sheet.

  2. 7

    Add Sauce and Toppings

Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the crust. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the sauce and then evenly distribute the prepared vegetables. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with dried oregano, salt, and pepper.

  3. 8

    Bake Pizza

Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  4. 9

    Cool and Serve

Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve hot.
